Company History
1978 - Tom Wyles enters log home industry and becomes a log home dealer.
1979 - Tom Wyles builds his first log home.
1981 - Tom Wyles builds his second log home.
1983 - Teams w/CPI Construction to build & sell log homes.
1984-85 - Additional construction crews added including a traveling crew.
1986 - Tomahawk Log & Country Homes Inc. is created and first authorized dealer was added.
1989 - Additional construction crews added.
1992 - Tomahawk Log & Country Homes Inc. purchases Wild Rose Sawmill.
1994 - New corporate headquarters are built in Tomahawk, Wisconsin.
1994 - Dip treatment process for all log components is developed.
1995 - Tomahawk Log & Country Homes creates Tomahawk Lumber Company. Allows TLCH to control quality of all materials that go into the material package while passing on volume discounts to customers.
1997 - Saddle Lok corner style is developed. The hand draw-knifed 12" Saddle-lok corner system is the largest diameter corner offered in hybrid, half log construction.
1998 - Second saw rig is added at Wild Rose Sawmill due to significant sales growth and demand for half log homes.
1999 - Additional traveling crew added. Tomahawk Log Home is one of the only log home manufacturers that also offers construction services.
1999 - Timberscribe gable end wall design introduced. Features massive half log components that are custom cut per each home and installed to the exterior and interior of the great room window wall.
2004 - Tomahawk Wood Care established. Tomahawk Wood Care specializes in the maintenance and restoration of wood homes.
2006 - Tomahawk Log Homes installs kiln system. Move is made from air drying to kiln drying allowing for controlled drying conditions and increased production.
2009 - 1" Structural Insulated Sheathing (standard in all Tomahawk Log Homes material packages) is recognized by Building Products Magazine as one of the top new energy efficient products for 2009. 1" SIS adds another r=6 to the overall r-value of our hybrid conventionally framed wall system.
2009 - Redesigned website is launched on the World Wide Web.
